Located in Hinton, Summers County, this access point provides public boat ramp access to the New River near the mouth of Indian Creek. The site is part of the Bluestone Lake recreation area, which forms behind Bluestone Dam on the New River. The New River in this area is known for its excellent fishing opportunities, including trophy catfish, muskellunge, and occasional trout. Paddlers should be aware that this section passes through or near Army property and sensitive recreation areas, so be respectful of posted restrictions. The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources maintains this and over 500 other public access sites throughout the state, ranging from concrete ramps to gravel launches suitable for smaller watercraft like kayaks and canoes.
