Steamboat Lake State Park offers excellent boat access to scenic Willow Creek and Steamboat Lake. The main boat ramp is located in the northwest corner of the lake, accessible from County Road 62. This well-maintained ramp provides easy launching for kayaks, canoes, and small powerboats.
The park also has additional boat ramps at Placer Cove and Dutch Hill, giving paddlers and boaters multiple access points around the lake. Steamboat Lake itself is a large, calm reservoir surrounded by forested shoreline, making it great for all types of recreational boating. Campers can conveniently leave their boats along the shoreline while staying at one of the park's campsites or cabins.
Steamboat Lake State Park is open year-round, with the boat ramps and other facilities available from 8am to 4pm daily. A $7 day use fee is required for entry. Paddlers and boaters should be aware of the park regulations, including the prohibition on discharging firearms within 100 yards of designated areas like the boat ramps.
