Steamboat Boat Ramp

**Location & Access:** Steamboat Landing is a county boat ramp located at the end of Steamboat Landing Road off State Road 174 on Edisto Island, Charleston County. The ramp provides access to Steamboat Creek, a tributary of the North Edisto River, offering paddlers and boaters entry to one of the East Coast's largest undeveloped estuaries.

**Paddling Conditions:** This is an ideal launch point for exploring the ACE Basin system (Ashepoo, Combahee, and Edisto rivers). The area is characterized by tidal marsh and estuarine conditions, so paddlers should be aware that tides and currents significantly affect water levels and navigation. **Exercise caution at low tide, as serious drop-offs may be present at the ramp.** Check tide charts before launching to ensure safe ramp access.
