Steele Creek Park's southern section provides convenient access to Lake Whitney on the west shore at mid-lake. Located in Lakeside Village, Bosque County, the park features multiple boat ramps—including both single-lane and two-lane options—making it accessible for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. To reach the site from the dam, take FM 56 to Lakeside Village, cross the Steele Creek bridge, turn right at the first road, continue to a T intersection, and turn right again to reach the park's end.
The southern section sits along Steele Creek itself, a brushy creek arm with limited swimming areas compared to other lake access points. This location is best suited for paddlers and anglers looking for calm lake conditions rather than creek paddling. The park offers good fishing opportunities with direct water access.
