About This Access Site
Stone Valley Lake Boat Ramp provides access to the 72-acre Lake Perez, a freshwater lake located in Petersburg within Huntingdon County's Appalachian Mountains. This is a dedicated launch facility managed by Stone Valley Recreation Area (operated by Penn State University's Campus Recreation). The lake is suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and motorized boating, though paddlers should note that swimming is not permitted.

**Important Requirements:** All boats must display a current Stone Valley Launch or Storage Permit. Electric motors are allowed but require current Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission registration. Non-powered watercraft (kayaks and canoes) are welcome. Non-watercraft devices such as inner tubes and pool floats are prohibited. Be aware that special fishing regulations apply to Lake Perez and its tributaries—check current PA Fish and Boat Commission regulations before your visit.

The Stone Valley Recreation Area offers additional amenities including 29 miles of hiking trails, cross-country skiing opportunities, and various facilities (lodges, cabins, pavilions, and picnic areas). For permit information, fees, and current access hours, contact Stone Valley Recreation Area directly at the University Park office.
