Stonecoal Lake is a 550-acre reservoir located in Lewis County near Horner, WV, offering convenient public access via a concrete boat ramp at this site. The lake is narrow and long with multiple coves, making it an excellent destination for kayakers and canoeists seeking a scenic paddling experience. As part of the Stonewall Jackson Lake recreation area, this access point is non-reservable and free to use.
The lake features light recreational traffic, making it ideal for peaceful paddling and fishing. The surrounding Stonecoal Lake Wildlife Management Area provides scenic views and wildlife viewing opportunities. With three public access points around the lake, paddlers have flexibility in planning their routes.
