About This Access Site
Located in Roanoke, Lewis County, this boat ramp provides public access to Stonewall Jackson Lake, a 2,600-acre recreation area managed as part of Stonewall Jackson State Park. The ramp is one of five public access points around the lake, offering convenient launch facilities for boaters, kayakers, and canoeists. The site is easily accessible via Interstate 79, making it a convenient destination for day trips or longer outings.

Stonewall Jackson Lake is an excellent paddling destination, particularly for kayakers and canoeists seeking a more peaceful experience. The lake features numerous shallow coves and a generally low population of power boats, creating ideal conditions for paddling without concerns about heavy wake. The park marina offers boat, canoe, kayak, and SUP rentals if you don't have your own equipment. In addition to paddling, the lake provides good fishing opportunities for bass and bluegill.

Nearby camping is available at Riffle Run Campground (reservable through Recreation.gov), making this an ideal base for multi-day paddling trips. The site is part of a larger recreation area with additional amenities and attractions in the region, including Burnsville Lake nearby.
