About This Access Site
The public boat ramp at Mt. Storm Lake provides easy access to this popular 55-acre impoundment located in the scenic Allegheny Front region of Grant County. The ramp is situated at the north end of the lake just off West Virginia Route 93, approximately 4 miles south of Mount Storm on Route 42. The lake is accessible via US Route 50 to WV 42 to WV 93, with Corridor H Super Highway offering convenient access via an exit near Liberty Gas Station. Ample parking is available near the ramp.

Mt. Storm Lake is known for its excellent recreational opportunities, including fishing, paddling, and wind sports. The lake has no wake zones, speed restrictions, or horsepower limits, making it suitable for all types of boats. The lake's position on the Allegheny Front—one of the windiest areas east of the Mississippi River—makes it particularly attractive for sailing and windsurfing enthusiasts. Note that the boat ramp and parking area are closed seasonally from June 1 through August 29 for maintenance and improvements. Before planning your visit, contact the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources for current conditions and any access updates.
