About This Access Site
Sugarloaf Resort Boat Ramp on Shasta Lake
Sugarloaf Resort boat ramp is a popular access point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats on Shasta Lake in northern California. The ramp is located on the upper Sacramento River arm of the lake, adjacent to the Antlers campground.

The ramp has four launching lanes and is typically available when the lake level drops below 75 feet from full pool. At that point, the nearby Antlers boat ramp comes out of the water, making Sugarloaf the preferred launch site. However, the ramp may be closed at times when the parking lot is full or when lake debris makes launching hazardous, especially in the spring.

Shasta Lake is a large reservoir fed by the Sacramento and McCloud Rivers. It offers over 365 miles of shoreline and numerous coves and arms to explore by small watercraft. Paddlers and boaters will find a mix of open water and scenic, sheltered areas. Nearby recreation areas include the Shasta Dam and Chappie-Shasta Off-Highway Vehicle area, providing additional opportunities for hiking, fishing, and off-road adventures.
