About This Access Site
Sullivan Lake is a 1,103-acre lake located near McNair in Lake County, Minnesota, offering paddlers and boaters multiple launch options. The primary DNR-managed access features a concrete boat ramp on the east shore (off County Road 271 on Sullivan Lake Drive), while a secondary township-owned access point is available on the west side (off County Road 51 on Lone Tree Drive). An additional earthen ramp with a back-down launch is located at the northeastern end near Sullivan Lake Campground, accessible via Forest Highway 11.

The lake supports a healthy fishery including panfish, bass, walleye, and northern pike, making it popular with anglers as well as recreational paddlers. Sullivan Lake Campground, situated along the shoreline, offers 12 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis, plus day-use picnic areas and nature trails. All facilities operate without advance reservations, and campers should use the self-pay registration system at the entrance.

For boaters and paddlers, note that access conditions vary by location—the DNR concrete ramp on the east shore offers the most developed launch, while the earthen ramp at the campground may require additional caution during wet conditions. Plan accordingly based on water levels and your vessel type.
