About This Access Site
Sunny Point Access on Yellowjacket Creek provides a convenient boat launch for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats to explore West Point Lake. The paved ramp leads directly into the calm, wide waters of the creek, which flows into the expansive 35-square mile lake. This U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility offers ample parking and a group picnic shelter with tables and grills, making it a popular spot for families and anglers. While the boat ramp is available year-round, the group shelter must be reserved in advance for a small fee. For those looking to extend their visit, the nearby Brush Creek Campground offers additional recreation opportunities along the shoreline of West Point Lake, which is known for its excellent fishing.
