About This Access Site
Sunrise River Landing provides boat access to the St. Croix River in Harris, Chisago County, offering a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The landing features a boat ramp, vault toilets, and a small parking area. This location sits south of the Highway 70 bridge on a stretch known for its sand and gravel bottom, making it popular with anglers targeting smallmouth bass.

Paddlers should be aware that a short series of rapids occurs near the landing, which may affect launch and landing conditions depending on water levels. The site is part of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway system. For upstream travel, note that motorized access stops at the Soo Line High Bridge to prevent zebra mussel spread. The National Park Service maintains interactive river maps and information about the four federal camping zones along the Riverway—visit their website for detailed trip planning resources and current conditions.
