Sunset Campground

Sunset Campground is a scenic day-use and overnight camping facility located on the northeast shore of Lake of the Woods in Klamath County, Oregon, approximately 39 miles east of Medford via OR-140. The site features a boat ramp, day-use picnic area, and gravelly beach suitable for swimming. The campground can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 65 feet, with nearby Lake of the Woods Resort offering boat rentals, dining, and basic supplies within easy reach.

For paddlers and boaters, Sunset offers convenient water access with dedicated boat ramp facilities and trailer parking. The lake operates under a 10 mph speed limit, making it suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and calm recreational boating. Day-use facilities are available for those launching boats, and the adjacent private beach provides easy water entry. The area is known for its scenic views of Mt. McLoughlin and is surrounded by old-growth forest typical of the Cascade region.

Recreation
Doe Point Campground offers biking, fishing, swimming, paddle boating and hiking opportunities. 

There is easy access to Fish Lake Trail, High Lakes Trail, Brown Mountain Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail. Sky Lakes Wilderness and Mount McLoughlin Trail system are less than an hour drive away.  
Facilities
Drinking water and Fush toilets with wash basins are provided as well as drinking water. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring.
Natural Features
Fish Lake is a reservoir with 483 acres surface area and is located at 4,639 feet elevation. The lake is supplied by over 45 underground volcanic streams. The southern shore provides really good views of Mount McLoughlin and is bordered by a 2,000 year old lava flow from Brown Mountain. The northern shore accommodates 2 campgrounds and a resort.
