Sunset Lake Park

Sunset Lake Park in Amherst Junction offers convenient access to Sunset Lake via a large concrete boat ramp suitable for trailered boats, plus a universal design EZ Launch specifically for kayaks and canoes. The access point is located on the east side of the lake along Florida Street and features ample parking, picnic tables, grills, and restroom facilities. The park is open from sunrise to sunset daily.

Boaters launching trailered vessels must display a valid county permit on the left side of the trailer bow stand. The access area is compact—less than 50 yards—making it ideal for smaller craft and paddlers. While there is a small dock to assist with launching, note that no transient docking or overnight mooring is available. Alcohol is prohibited in the park. This is a good spot for kayakers and canoeists seeking straightforward lake access with basic amenities.
