About This Access Site
Sunshine Resort on the Colorado River offers a convenient boat ramp and access site for kayakers, canoeists, and other small boaters. The ramp provides direct access to the Colorado River, which is a major waterway flowing over 1,000 miles from its headwaters to the Gulf of California.

With an average flow of 14,000 cubic feet per second and a gradient of 8.7 feet per mile, the Colorado River near Parker Dam has a steady current that paddlers should be prepared to navigate. The river is broad and navigable, making it well-suited for both recreational boating and longer excursions. Facilities at Sunshine Resort include a boat dock, slips, and a sandy beach area, as well as RV sites, restrooms, and a camp store.

This access site is part of the Lake Havasu Shoreline Sites managed by the Bureau of Land Management. Overnight camping is permitted for up to 14 days, with fees of $10 per day plus $10 per night.
