About This Access Site
Swan Lake is a 407-acre lake in Columbia County offering public boat access via a dedicated ramp at the Swan Lake Day Use Area. Located just north of Pardeeville off Highway 83 (near mile marker 72), the facility provides a convenient launch point for motorboats, kayaks, and canoes. The lake reaches depths of 82 feet and supports a variety of fish species including musky, walleye, northern pike, and largemouth bass, though water clarity is low.

**For paddlers:** The site recommends launching east of the main boat ramp along the shoreline to avoid conflicts with powerboat traffic. An alternate unimproved public access point is available one block west at the end of Blank Road. A campground is located across the street on the east side of Highway 83 for those planning overnight stays. This location provides good access to the lake and serves as a gateway to exploring the surrounding Wisconsin waterways, including nearby Wisconsin River Islands and the Fox River National Wildlife Refuge.
