Swan Public Water Access

**Location & Access:** Swan Public Water Access is located at the Swan Lake Day Use Area near Viborg in Turner County. From Highway 83, turn west near mile marker 72, just north of town. The ramp sits on the south bank and provides convenient access to both Swan Lake and Turkey Ridge Creek.

**Facilities & Conditions:** This is a well-maintained public launch with a boat ramp, parking, and outhouses. No fees are required. The site can get busy during summer months, so arriving early is recommended if you're visiting during peak season. The surrounding area features rolling prairie bluffs and is part of South Dakota's Lewis and Clark Trail system, with numerous wildlife refuges along the shorelines, particularly near the creek's mouth.

**Paddling Characteristics:** The access point offers nice paddling on a gradually widening waterway with gentle current. It's suitable for both kayakers and canoeists looking for a scenic, wildlife-rich paddling experience. The water gradually widens as you move downstream toward the river mouth, making it a good option for varying skill levels.
