Swanson Lake - Spring Canyon North

**Location & Facilities**

Swanson Lake's Spring Canyon North ramp is located near Trenton in the Nebraska Panhandle on the Republican River, part of the larger Swanson Reservoir system created by Trenton Dam. This access point is one of two boat ramps in the well-sheltered Spring Canyon Bay area, with a mooring dock also available. The nearby Spring Canyon Campground offers modern facilities including restrooms, showers, electrical hookups, and ample parking—making it convenient for multiday paddling trips.

**Water Conditions & Recreation**

The reservoir encompasses 4,794 acres of clear water maintained at conservation pool level, with nearly 4,000 additional acres of public land managed by the Game and Parks Commission. All types of boating are permitted, and the excellent water clarity makes it suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and other water sports. The site provides direct access to the Republican River as well as the lake proper, giving paddlers options to explore both reservoir and river environments.
