Swedes Lane Boat Ramp provides access to the southern end of Utah Lake near Provo. This public ramp is suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats, though the water level can be low at times.
The boat ramp is currently closed for motorized launching due to low water levels, so we recommend only using this site for non-motorized watercraft like kayaks and canoes. The ramp and dock are available for use at your own risk. Nearby, Utah Lake State Park offers additional fishing and boating access points along the shoreline.
Utah Lake is the largest freshwater lake in the state, covering over 150 square miles. It's a popular destination for fishing, with species like channel catfish, walleye, white bass, and black bass found in the lake. Paddlers and boaters should be aware of potential wind and wave conditions on this large open-water lake. Check weather forecasts and use caution when venturing out.
