About This Access Site
Sweetwater Creek State Park offers a scenic boat launch on the George Sparks Reservoir, a 215-acre impoundment on Dry Creek. This peaceful setting within the Chattahoochee RiverLands network provides excellent paddling and fishing opportunities for kayakers, canoeists, and small boaters.

The boat ramp provides easy access to the reservoir, which is popular for fishing and wildlife viewing. During warmer months, the park rents a variety of small watercraft including kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, and pedal boats. A bait shop on-site carries fishing supplies. While swimming is not allowed, the reservoir offers a tranquil environment for recreational boating and serene views of the surrounding wooded shoreline.

Sweetwater Creek State Park is located just west of Atlanta, providing a convenient natural getaway for residents and visitors alike. In addition to the boat launch, the park features hiking trails, historic mill ruins, and ADA-accessible facilities, making it an inclusive outdoor destination. Whether launching a kayak, casting a line, or simply enjoying the scenery, Sweetwater Creek State Park's boat ramp offers an excellent access point to explore this scenic Piedmont reservoir.
