Take Out Beach is a popular boat ramp and access point along the Colorado River in Castle Valley, Utah. Located about 10 miles downstream from the town of Green River, this site serves as the primary take-out for the "Moab Daily" stretch of the Colorado River, a popular whitewater rafting and kayaking run.
The boat ramp provides paved access to the river, as well as parking and restroom facilities. Paddlers and boaters can use this site to exit the river after their trip, or as a launch point for calmer, flatwater stretches. With the Colorado River being a major waterway, it's important for boaters to be aware of the river's character - it has an average flow of over 14,000 cubic feet per second and an average gradient of 8.7 feet per mile, making it a powerful and fast-moving river, especially during peak runoff seasons.
Nearby recreation areas include the Portal Trail and the Moab Field Office managed by the Bureau of Land Management, providing ample opportunities for hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities. Several campgrounds are also located within 10 miles of the Take Out Beach access site, making it a convenient hub for multi-day river trips and exploration of the surrounding region.
