This take-out location on the Snake River in Teton County, Wyoming provides access to one of the Pacific Northwest's most significant whitewater rivers. The Snake River at this point is a major river system with substantial flow averaging nearly 50,000 cubic feet per second and relatively fast current velocity of about 10.81 feet per second. Given the river's steep average gradient of 15.8 feet per mile and its position as a headwater stream near the source region, paddlers should expect dynamic water conditions typical of high-elevation western river systems. The significant elevation drop across the Snake River's course and its major river classification indicate this is serious whitewater terrain requiring appropriate skill and experience.
