About This Access Site
Tall Chief Cove offers a well-developed boat launch facility on the eastern side of Skiatook Lake in northeast Oklahoma, making it a convenient access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The ramp is situated within a popular Army Corps of Engineers campground and features ample parking, a dock, and covered picnic areas. The facility is located on Hominy Creek where it flows into Skiatook Lake, providing access to the lake's meandering shoreline surrounded by gentle rolling hills and mixed forests.

This is an established recreation destination with amenities beyond the ramp itself, including a sandy swimming beach, vault toilets, and 57 campsites with electric hookups for those planning extended visits. A day-use pass is required to access the ramp and beach facilities. From Tulsa, the site is approximately 15 miles west of Skiatook on State Highway 20, then five miles north on Lake Road. For current information on pass requirements, hours, and facility conditions, contact the Skiatook Lake Office at 918-288-6820.
