About This Access Site
Tamarack Lake is a 325-acre lake located in Iron County's Ottawa National Forest near Iron River, Michigan. The boat ramp provides access to this scenic all-sports lake that is popular with anglers targeting walleye and other fish species. The facility includes a hard-surfaced boat launch suitable for small to medium-sized watercraft, making it accessible for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters.

A day-use fee of $5 per vehicle applies from May 15 through October 15, with an annual pass option available for $30 that covers multiple recreation sites in the area. Day-use fees are waived for those with paid campground reservations at Marion Lake Group Site. The ramp is accessed via Marion Lake Road (Forest Road 3980) north from U.S. Highway 2, followed by Forest Road 3985.
