About This Access Site
Located on the north shoulder of Tamiami Trail at the 40 Mile Bend in Miami-Dade County, this primitive public access point provides paddlers and small boaters entry to the Tamiami Canal Number C-4 and surrounding Everglades waterways. The ramp features a single gravel lane managed by the South Florida Water Management District and is best suited for kayaks, canoes, and very small boats. This is primarily a canoe/kayak launch facility.

**Important Note:** The ramp is currently in need of repair, so paddlers should expect rough conditions. Water conditions and access may vary seasonally, particularly during Everglades water management cycles. Before launching, confirm current conditions and water levels with the SFWMD. The site has no docks or amenities, so come prepared with all necessary gear and supplies.

Two nearby campgrounds—Pinecrest Group Campground and Mitchell Landing Campground—offer reservable camping options within 10 miles if you're planning a longer paddling trip in the area. This access point serves as a gateway to extensive Everglades exploration for experienced paddlers familiar with canal navigation.
