Rock Landing provides convenient access to the Crooked River via a concrete boat ramp with grassy areas on either side, ideal for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. The site includes a covered pavilion, grassy parking area for trailers, and facilities for day-use activities. This is a well-developed access point compared to some of the more rustic launches scattered throughout Tate's Hell State Forest.
The Crooked River and surrounding waterways offer approximately 35 miles of boatable creeks, rivers, and streams within the forest. Paddlers should be aware that water levels and tidal conditions can significantly affect launch and takeout difficulty—some nearby access points (like CS#45) experience notable drops during low water or outgoing tides. The area is popular for fishing, boating, canoeing, wildlife viewing, and bird watching, making it a good base for exploring this scenic northwest Florida forest system.
