About This Access Site
The Taylor Creek boat ramp provides access to the Arkansas River near the town of Bigelow in Perry County, Arkansas. This major river system stretches over 1,200 miles and drains a massive 133,912 square mile watershed. With an average flow of over 51,000 cubic feet per second and a moderate gradient of 7.9 feet per mile, the Arkansas River is a popular destination for boating, fishing, and other water recreation.

The Taylor Creek access site features a wooden boat ramp that can accommodate kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats. It is part of the Toad Suck Park campground, which is reservable through Recreation.gov. While the park does have basic amenities, the boat ramp area itself does not have any services or facilities beyond the launch. Paddlers and boaters should be prepared with their own gear, safety equipment, and supplies. The river's swift current and large size mean this access point may not be suitable for inexperienced users or very large vessels. Those seeking a longer float or more remote experience may want to explore other put-in/take-out options further upstream or downstream along the Arkansas River.
