About This Access Site
**Access & Location**
Teague Parkway offers convenient access to the Red River just outside downtown Bossier City. From US Highway 71 near Montgomery, head west at the caution light, cross the railroad tracks through downtown, and turn right on Old Jefferson Highway to reach the access road. The concrete boat ramp is well-maintained and located in a dedicated parking area approximately two miles from downtown. A nearby sheriff's substation and paved trail system add to the facility's amenities.

**River Conditions & Paddling Considerations**
The Red River at this location is a major waterway with significant flow—averaging over 68,000 cubic feet per second with current velocities around 6 feet per second. As a stream order 9 river (comparable in size to the Mississippi or Missouri), expect substantial water movement and appropriate planning for your skill level. Water levels fluctuate seasonally; importantly, this ramp closes when river levels reach 21 feet with predicted continued rise. **Important:** Check current water conditions before launching, as high water can affect safety and ramp usability.

**Nearby Recreation**
The Red River National Wildlife Refuge nearby offers additional paddling and wildlife viewing opportunities. Wallace Lake, operated by the Corps of Engineers, is also in the area for those seeking alternative water access or bank fishing.
