Teter Creek Lake is a 35-acre impoundment located in Montrose, Barbour County, offering a reliable launch point for kayakers and small boaters. The lake features a dedicated boat ramp suitable for electric-only vessels, making it ideal for quiet paddling and fishing. With an average depth of 11 feet, the lake provides calm, sheltered water conditions typical of a managed reservoir.
The site includes practical amenities for visitors: a boat ramp for launching, ample parking, and a wheelchair-accessible fishing trail. Rustic camping with 20 first-come, first-served sites (tent and trailer) is available at the Wildlife Management Area for overnight trips. The lake supports diverse fishing opportunities including trout, bass, bluegill, channel catfish, and tiger musky, making it attractive for anglers combining fishing with paddling.
Note that electric motors are the only motorized craft permitted on Teter Creek Lake, preserving the peaceful paddling environment.
