About This Access Site
Located approximately 45 miles southeast of Libby on Highway 2, Logan State Park provides access to Middle Thompson Lake and the Thompson Chain of Lakes system. The park features a fully developed concrete boat ramp with dock facilities, making it an ideal launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The campground offers 37 sites with amenities including potable water, flush toilets, and a shower house, plus a swimming beach for day-use visitors.

Middle Thompson Lake is home to yellow perch, northern pike, largemouth bass, and smallmouth bass, making it popular with anglers as well as paddlers. The Thompson Chain of Lakes system includes additional access points at Upper Thompson Lake, Lower Thompson Lake (Peninsula), McGregor Lake, Horseshoe Lake, and Loon Lake, though many of these roads are primitive and not recommended for large RVs or trailers. Paddlers should note that vehicle length at the main campground is limited to 30 feet, though larger trailers up to 40 feet may be accommodated in some spaces.
