Thompson Falls

**Location & Access:** Thompson Falls Boat Ramp is located in Thompson Falls State Park near Thompson Falls, Montana, providing public access to the Clark Fork River and Noxon Reservoir. The ramp features a cement launch area suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. This is a convenient put-in point for paddlers planning trips on the lower Clark Fork River.

**Paddling Conditions:** The water at Thompson Falls is non-technical and suitable for paddlers of varying skill levels. Popular float trips from this area range from 11 miles (full day paddle to downstream access points) to longer trips extending 14 miles or more toward Dry Creek. The river in this section is generally manageable for recreational paddling and fishing.

**Amenities & Recreation:** Thompson Falls State Park offers additional facilities beyond the boat ramp, including camping, an improved family fishing pond with an accessible fishing pier, picnic areas, and parking. The recently expanded Thompson Falls Trail provides scenic non-motorized hiking and biking along the river and connects to town via the Highway 200 trail system.
