**Location & Access:** The Thorp boat ramp is located on the downstream river-right side of the Yakima River bridge on North Thorp Highway, approximately 9 miles northeast of Ellensburg via SR-10. This unimproved gravel ramp serves as an important take-out point for paddlers and boaters traveling downstream.
**Practical Information:** This access point is particularly valuable as a take-out for multi-mile paddling trips on the upper Yakima River. It provides a critical exit point approximately 3 miles above Ellensburg's diversion dam, allowing paddlers to avoid portaging around the dam or navigating potentially dangerous water conditions near the drop. The site features free parking and a gravel launch/take-out area suitable for kayaks, canoes, and smaller boats. Being an unimproved facility, paddlers should expect basic conditions and plan accordingly. This location works well as an intermediate or final take-out for upper canyon sections of the Yakima River.
