Located on the west side of Lake Granbury near the dam, Thorp Spring Park is a modest but functional access point for paddlers and boaters. The park features a single-lane concrete boat ramp, trailer parking, a fishing pier, and restroom facilities. Access is straightforward: from US 377 east of Granbury, turn south on FM 4, then right on TX 167, following park signs. The site is free and open year-round.
This is a good option for evening paddles and casual boating on Lake Granbury's relatively calm waters. Keep in mind that when water levels drop below full pool (approximately 692.7 feet msl), the steeper ramp can leave trailer tires partially dry—be prepared for varying launch conditions depending on the season. The park's small size and simple amenities make it best suited for smaller craft and day-use paddling rather than large group outings.
