Thousand HIlls State Park

Located near the dining lodge at Thousand Hills State Park in Kirksville, this paved boat ramp provides convenient access to Forest Lake. The ramp is approximately three lanes wide and suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. Note that a city permit is required for all private boats, and outboard motors are limited to 90 horsepower or less on Forest Lake.

Forest Lake offers 17 miles of shoreline and provides a scenic paddling and boating destination with wooded shores typical of northern Missouri. Beyond the boat ramp, the park features a marina, watercraft rentals, an accessible fishing dock, a swimming beach, and various amenities including campsites and picnic areas. This makes Thousand Hills a well-developed access point for both day trips and extended water recreation outings.
