About This Access Site
This primitive boat launch provides access to Three Forks Marsh, a vast sawgrass wetland system in the St. Johns River area near Palm Bay. The launch offers excellent views of the expansive marshlands and is ideal for kayakers and canoeists looking to explore shallow marsh habitat and wildlife viewing opportunities. Note that vehicle access is **limited to Mondays and Thursdays, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM only**; outside these times, you must hike or bike in from Fellsmere Grade (approximately 2.5 miles).

Paddlers should be aware that the Three Forks Conservation Area is bisected by the St. Johns River, creating multiple water bodies including lakes formed by the river channel. While kayaking is possible in the area, crossing these open water sections can be challenging, particularly during adverse conditions. The marsh terrain offers peaceful exploration but requires caution and proper preparation. Alternative access points are available at Thomas O. Lawton Recreation Area and other locations throughout the conservation area. Always respect wildlife and follow all Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission guidelines when visiting.
