Thunder Bay is a developed boat ramp facility on Sherman Reservoir near Loup City, Nebraska, offering convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The site features multiple launch options including a concrete ramp, boat docks, and a direct bank launch accessible from the parking area. Paved roads lead through the park to the access point, and all boat types are permitted. Note that bank conditions may be muddy depending on recent weather, so plan accordingly.
The reservoir is open 24 hours and features good access roads and facilities. Sherman Reservoir itself offers excellent recreational opportunities across its expanse, with nearby alternative access points available if needed.
