This site is well-positioned for kayakers, canoeists, and small boat operators looking to explore the river and estuary system. The location provides relatively easy launch access compared to some other Siuslaw River access points, making it suitable for paddlers of various skill levels.
The surrounding area offers good recreational opportunities, with the Siuslaw River SRMA nearby and several campgrounds within 10 miles, including Archie Knowles Campground and North Fork Siuslaw Campground. For those interested in hiking, the Old Growth Ridge National Recreation Trail begins at nearby Whittaker Creek Campground and offers a challenging ascent with scenic views.
