About This Access Site
Tinkle Park offers convenient access to Lake Murvaul and Caney Creek in Panola County, located on the south shore of the lake. This improved boat ramp is maintained by the Panola County Fresh Water District and provides a reliable launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. To reach the ramp, take FM 1970 west to FM 999, then turn onto Panola County Road 176 and take the first road after the concrete bridge.

The park offers more than just launch facilities—amenities include restrooms, picnic areas, and fire rings, making it suitable for a full day of recreation. Camping options are available nearby for those planning overnight trips. Lake Murvaul provides a calm water paddling environment ideal for recreational kayaking and canoeing.
