About This Access Site
Tipsinah Mound offers a public boat launch on Pomme de Terre Lake near Elbow Lake in Grant County. The ramp is accessible from March through November and is located at Tipsinah Mounds Park & Campground, the only full-service park directly on the lake. This sandy-bottom lake provides a scenic paddling destination with good fishing opportunities and relatively sheltered water conditions suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats.

The access site is part of a comprehensive recreational facility that makes it convenient for day trips or extended outings. Amenities include a sandy swimming beach, picnic areas, and a general store with bait available. Those planning longer visits will find 25+ RV sites with utilities, tent camping, and cabin rentals open seasonally (May 1–October 1). A fish cleaning station and modern facilities are also available. Note that a secondary boat launch is accessible from Highway 64 on the north side of the park for those seeking alternative access points.
