The Sacramento River is a major waterway, spanning over 419 miles in length with an average flow of nearly 39,000 cubic feet per second. Nearby recreation areas include the Sutter National Wildlife Refuge, providing ample opportunities for wildlife viewing and nature appreciation along the riverbanks. Visitors should check the weather and flow conditions before heading out, as the river can present challenges for less experienced paddlers.
