The Tofte ramp is a township-owned access site on Lake Superior's North Shore, maintained in cooperation with Tofte Township and the Minnesota DNR. The facility features an 85-foot breakwater and an updated ramp that was reconstructed in 1997 and upgraded again in 2010. Parking is typically ample for the moderate use this location receives, with dedicated trailer parking available.
The ramp is accessible whenever ice is out, though docks are seasonally removed during winter months. As a Lake Superior access point, paddlers and boaters should check current weather forecasts and follow all Lake Superior safety guidelines before heading out. Both motorized and non-motorized boaters use this site, making it suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and trailered boats.
