**Location & Access:** Tom Sneed Lake is located on West Otter Creek northeast of Altus in Kiowa County, Oklahoma. The boat ramp is situated mid-lake on the north side of Emmerson Airline Road. To reach it from Startzville, take FM 2673 to Canyon Bend Road, staying right as it becomes Canyon Lake Forest Road, which will lead you to the ramp. A park office and bait shop are conveniently located on the south side of Emmerson Airline Road.
**Lake Character & Facilities:** Tom Sneed Lake spans over 31 miles of shoreline across more than 6,000 acres, offering excellent fishing for catfish, crappie, and bass. The lake is managed by the Otter Lake Water Commission; be aware that most shorelines are steep-sided and lined with riprap. Paddlers and boaters will find comprehensive facilities at Great Plains State Park, including picnic areas, designated campsites, group shelters, restrooms, showers, a swimming beach, concession services, and nature trails. An additional boat launching ramp and recreation area are available on the east side of the lake.
**Before You Go:** Check with the park office or bait shop for current conditions and any water level or access updates. The surrounding area offers scenic cottonwood, ash, elm, walnut, and pecan trees, particularly along Otter Creek below the dam where nature trails are available.
