Located at Canada Creek Ranch in Presque Isle County, Michigan (approximately 12.5 miles southeast of Onaway), Tomahawk Creek Flooding offers two distinct launch options to accommodate different watercraft. The developed west unit features a motorized boat launch with concrete ramps suitable for trailers, while the undeveloped east unit provides a more accessible carry-in launch better suited for canoes and kayaks. Both launch areas provide access to the floodwaters impoundment.
The 2-mile water body is known for its unique flooded timber area at the south end, creating scenic paddling opportunities and wildlife habitat frequented by eagles and osprey. Paddlers should note that anglers regularly use this area, particularly for bass and pike fishing. The access site is part of a larger recreation area that includes two campgrounds with vault toilets and potable water from hand-pump wells, making it convenient for extended paddling trips or overnight outings.
