Tompkins Campground offers a dedicated boat ramp on the north shore of Cowanesque Lake, a 1,085-acre reservoir with 17 miles of shoreline located near Lawrenceville in northern Pennsylvania, just below the New York state line. The ramp provides convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats looking to explore this scenic lake surrounded by forested ridges in the Endless Mountains region. The facility is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project and operates as a full-service campground with overnight accommodations.

**Practical Access Information:** The boat ramp is reserved for campers only, and mooring slips are available on a first-come, first-served basis for those staying at the campground. All camping reservations must be made through Recreation.gov (recreation.gov or 877-444-6777) in advance. The campground provides full amenities including drinking water, hot showers, dump station, and playground facilities. The lake is suitable for various water activities, including fishing, swimming, and recreational boating in a calm, scenic setting.

**Directions:** From U.S. Route 15, take the Lawrenceville/Route 49 exit and head east one mile into Lawrenceville. Turn left onto State Route 287 and continue to the campground entrance on the north shore.

Cowanesque Lake offers a variety of outdoor activities. With a boat ramp and overnight mooring, campers can easily spend time on the water.

There are a variety of indigenous fish that inhabit the area's streams and lakes, and fishing tournaments are held frequently. The North and South Tailrace areas provide access for fishing downstream of Cowanesque Dam.

The fields and forests around the lakes are popular destinations for both local and out-of-state hunters looking for large and small game species native to the eastern hardwood forests.

The 4 mile Moccasin Trail within the facility leads hikers on a trek through reclaimed farm fields and wood lots inhabited by a variety of watchable wildlife.Facilities
Tompkins has a variety of shoreline sites, most of which have electric hookups. The campground includes 109 traditional campsites and, 16 tent only hike-in sites.A boat ramp, drinking water, hot showers, playgrounds and a dump station are also provided.
