Tonyawatha Park is a small but functional boat access point on Lake Monona in Monona, offering two launching ramps and a short pier for temporary tie-ups. The park provides excellent lake and shoreline views, making it a convenient spot for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters looking to access the 4,600-acre lake. The compact, less-than-one-acre park is primarily designed as a launch facility for boating and fishing.
**Important permit requirement:** All boaters, paddlers, and canoeists using this launch site must obtain a Lake Access Permit, which is required year-round for all designated launch sites in the City of Madison, City of Monona, and Dane County Parks. Be aware that a "no wake" zone extends 200 feet from shore on Lake Monona. The facility is well-maintained and suitable for paddlers and boaters of all skill levels.
