**Location & Access:** Toronto-Beach provides boat ramp access to the Verdigris River and Toronto Lake in Woodson County, Kansas. This is a good put-in point for exploring the scenic Toronto Lake area, which features Kansas' only granite outcrop—a notable landmark with historical significance from the brief 1887 gold rush.

**River Conditions:** The Verdigris River is a major waterway (Stream Order 8) with an average flow of approximately 6,586 cubic feet per second and moderate current velocity of 4.6 feet per second. With an average gradient of 1.9 feet per mile, paddlers can expect a relatively gentle slope suitable for canoeists and recreational kayakers. The river spans 311 miles total with significant elevation change, giving paddlers options for various trip lengths and difficulty levels.
