About This Access Site
Located in Belle Glade on the southern shore of Lake Okeechobee, Torry Island West provides excellent access to Florida's largest freshwater lake. The ramp features six lanes (including both single and double-lane options), three docks, and 206 parking spaces for vehicles with trailers, making it well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and larger motorboats alike. A portable restroom and picnic area are available on-site.

This access point opens onto the expansive waters of Lake Okeechobee, a diverse ecosystem characterized by shallow marshes, moss-draped live oak canopies, and abundant wildlife. The ramp provides gateway access to both the lake's open waters and the Caloosahatchee River system, offering paddlers diverse paddling opportunities from calm lake exploration to river passage. Note that water levels can fluctuate seasonally, which may occasionally affect access conditions, so checking current conditions before your trip is recommended.

For more information, contact the site at (561) 992-1562. The ramp's convenient location and comprehensive facilities make it a popular choice for launching paddling and fishing adventures on Lake Okeechobee's southern basin.
