Tory Hole is a public boat access point on the Cape Fear River in Elizabethtown, located at 335 N. Poplar Street in Bladen County. The facility features a concrete ramp suitable for launching canoes, kayaks, and motorboats, with ample parking available. This is a well-maintained access area managed by the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission.
The Cape Fear River at this location is a major waterway with an average flow of over 10,600 cubic feet per second and a gentle average gradient of 0.8 feet per mile, making it generally suitable for paddlers of various skill levels. At this point along the river's 193-mile course, you're in the improved navigation channel between Wilmington and Fayetteville, a section popular for boating and paddling.
