Town of Mattapoisett Landing offers a concrete public boat ramp providing convenient access to Mattapoisett Harbor and the scenic Mattapoisett River. Located where the river meets the harbor, this sheltered launching point is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats. From the ramp, paddlers can explore upstream into the river's marshy shores or venture into the harbor proper, with opportunities to reach Buzzards Bay beyond.
Parking is available at the nearby Depot Street lot (about a quarter-mile away) and Town Beach area, with no launch fees. The harbor offers protected waters for paddling, particularly in Molly's Cove on the north side of Mattapoisett Neck, which provides good holding ground for anchoring. The area is well-suited for calm-water paddling and makes an excellent base for exploring the local waterways and nearby attractions, including the Cape Cod Canal recreational trails and New Bedford's historic sites.
