About This Access Site
Turtle Creek Park is a 200-acre access site located six miles southeast of Manchester on the Hartwick Lake impoundment of the Maquoketa River, just above the Delhi Dam. The park offers a dedicated boat ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats onto the calm, impounded waters. This is an excellent put-in for paddlers looking to explore the lake or begin downstream trips on the Maquoketa River.

The park is well-developed with amenities including RV camping sites with electrical and water hookups, as well as primitive camping options, making it ideal for multi-day paddling trips. The impounded water creates lake-like conditions with minimal current, making it accessible for paddlers of all skill levels. Note that the Delhi Dam is located downstream, so any paddlers planning to continue beyond the impoundment should plan accordingly or take out before the dam.

For specific information about launch fees, parking, operating hours, and current water conditions, contact the park directly or check with local management.
